• Always use a tube cutter when making cuts; never use scissors, snips, or other tools, as they can crush the ends.
• Check for any burrs on the edges of the tube before inserting into the air fittings.
• For the most effective results, simply twist the edge of the tube with moist fingertips using clean water before inserting it into the air fitting to ensure a smooth, low-friction connection.
• Always protect the air hose when pulling it through metal openings with grommets. Never run nylon tubing close to exhaust manifolds, tailpipes, onboard air compressors, or the compressor’s leader hose, or any other heat sources.
• Lastly, remember the saying: “Measure twice, cut once.” Most DOT fittings have internal rubber O-rings and do not tolerate repeated insertion and removal well.
